Weekend with the Mamas

This weekend I was able to make a quick trip to a place that holds so many memories...

 to Missouri...

to Papa's farm...

It was so fun to be back in the sun

by the pond

 & (for the first time) in the beautiful fall weather. 

Plus, I got to spend it with two lovely ladies, my mom & Mr. Fleece's mom. 

We had a few adventures:

- roasting hotdogs on the sandrocks

- plundering the many antique stores & thrift shops

- strolling High Street in Jefferson City, MO

- walking the Katy Trail in Portland, MO

- celebrating Oktoberfest in Herman, MO

- flea marketing in Wentzville, MO

- playing (& winning!) BINGO

Book Clubbing

I planned a book club event for my work.

We read the book "Lean In" by Sheryl Sandberg

& met at my coworker's house

 to eat delicious food

 drink some tasty libations

(themed) libations

 & of course discuss

 & contemplate 

the various statistics, suggestions & personal experiences Sheryl shared in her bestselling book. 

Her Tedtalk gives a good taste of the topics discussed.

The Pumpkin Patch

This weekend I decided to take a couple out of town friends to Jubilee Farms. Although lacking a corn maze, the entry & hayride were free - plus pumpkins were only .60 per pound!

We traipsed around the field searching for the perfect pumpkin. 

We witnessed many shapes, colors, sizes & even deformities

I got to cut my pumpkin off the vine myself!

Each of our first times in a Pumpkin Patch!

The big pumpkin is now sitting on our front porch while the little guy is on our kitchen table.

Hoping to make this a new tradition!  

Now all I want to do is eat this:

My friend LEW & her touring comrade came to Seattle this weekend. 

They performed at the Hard Rock Cafe & played at a little house concert (#tinyconcertseries)

 

Their lovely performances motivated me to check out more Seattle Venues. 

The Crocodile & The Triple Door are at the top of my list!
