What my walls say about me

I have another little wall collage to share.

No. 1 Girl with Balloons [birthday card from Mr. Fleece]

No. 2 Mason jar + roses [gift from KET]

No. 3 Yellow Progress in Electronics [awesome prints I found at Salvation Army in Missouri]

No. 4 We Love [gift from LDW]

No. 5 Ropes [a Goodwill find, because Mr. Fleece taught me to sail]

No. 6 Orange Progress in Electronics [same as No. 3]

My newest addition will be this little jewel. I purchased this through an Auction at my work. My friend's mother-in-law, Betsy Morishita, draws these wonderful homes. This one happens to be mine : ) I want one for every place Mr. Fleece & I end up living.

Leavenworth Haikus

Dearest Leavenworth,
I've dreamed about you for months.
Mr. Fleece gave in.

It's true, I've been pestering Mr. Fleece to take me to Leavenworth for about two years now. This weekend we finally went with friends AB & WW! The trip started out with a free snowshoeing tour at the Friends of Northwest Hatcheries just outside of Leavenworth.
We learned about the hatchery,
walked around on the trails,
hunted for animal tracks
& enjoyed the beautiful scenery.

After sipping hot chocolate at the Sleeping Lady Resort, we headed in to town (pronouncing all signs in a German accent) & stopped at the Leavenworth Sausage Garten.
Those bratwursts were delicious, made even better by the numerous varieties of mustard including pineapple mustard & cranberry mustard (personal favorites).
We meandered the streets (hunting for solid Bavarian snacks like crepes & pretzels to no avail) & made our way to the Nutcracker Museum. For $2.50 you can see any & every nutcracker that ever was.
Leavenworth is quite the quaint & charming little village with lots of shoppes & sites.
But the main attraction had to be the colorful children sledding down the bank like little daredevils.
So in summary,

We drove to winter
Snow. Bratwurst. Children sledding.
We'll be back for crepes.

The New Year | 2015

I was recently reminded that sometimes, less is more. For example, using fewer knick-knacks in our living room decor actually looks better & less cluttered.
I've also learned that sometimes, more is less. I often try to do "all the things" a weekend has to offer & wind up drained & exhausted. Mr. Fleece has demonstrated an alternative - committing to one event per day/evening, arriving on time, focusing on that single group of people, & not cutting out early. Marriage is good, isn't it?
Here are some of my mores & lesses for 2015:

Floss more. Read the news more.
Spend less.
Write letters more. Stretch more.
Eat desserts less.
Meal plan more. See live music more.
Look at social media less.
Dwell on scripture more. Rejoice more.
Fear less.

"Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
