Springtime Photo Shoot

Inspired by pink pastels & feminine florals, Whitney McGuire Photography & I set off to UW's famous lawn for a mini photo shoot. The iconic cherry blossoms mixed with the morning sun created the perfect backdrop & I love how these turned out!

This or That | Seattle

Seattle is bursting at the seams with fun things to do, eat, & see. It's a jammin' city, with lots of options. Sometimes it's hard to choose, but here's my gut reaction preferences:

1. Portage Bay or Macrina Bakery: Portage Bay. It's hard to beat that berry bar : )
2. SAM or Frye: SAM, although I've been wanting to visit the Frye
3. Red Hook or Chateau St. Michelle: Chateau St. Michelle because vineyards...
4. Paramount or the Moore: Love the Moore!
5. Light Rail or Metro bus: Light Rail for sure
6. KEXP or The End: The End
7. I-5 or Aurora: Hwy 99, the view of Elliott Bay is classic
8. Pike Place or neighborhood farmer’s market: Pike Place. I worked a block away for 3 years, so it's close to my heart
9. Stranger or Seattle Weekly: I don't read either one
10. Molly Moon's or Cupcake Royale: Mr. Fleece & I love bonanza from Cupcake Royale
11. Greenlake or Lake Union: Lake Union because houseboats
12. Gasworks or Golden Gardens: Gasworks - there's always so much life happening
13. Dick’s or Red Mill: I'd have to go with Uneeda Burger : )
14. Northgate or Pacific Place: Pacific Place - our church used to meet in the AMC movie theater
15. Space Needle or Smith Tower: I love the shape of Smith Tower
16. Fremont Troll or Hammering Man: Fremont Troll
17. Broadway or Market: Market
18. Crocodile or Neumos: Crocodile
19. Woodland Park Zoo or Seattle Aquarium: We were members of the Woodland Park Zoo when we first moved here - it definitely wins!
20. Volunteer Park or Lincoln Park: I love Volunteer Park & always will.

Flipping a coin,

The Big Reveal

Mr. Fleece & I finished our remodel! We've spent hours picking out flooring, meeting with contractors, & researching everything from "which blinds to buy" to "how to reinstall doors" to "how to remove stickers from a mailbox." Lots of learning. Lots of exhaustion. Lots of money. But, the unit is now online & ready for the perfect non-smoking, clean, rent-paying tenant : )
Here's our sales pitch:
Enjoy living in a charming one bedroom house at the base of Queen Anne and get the benefits of a neighborhood feel with the convenience of city living. This main floor duplex is 600 sq. ft. with a living room, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, and two closets. Amenities include a washer/dryer in unit, dishwasher, and ample storage. The kitchen is very spacious with a sliding glass door that opens to a large deck with view of the Space Needle. Other charming features include a breakfast nook, recently refinished hardwood floors, and claw foot bathtub. The unit has windows on all sides that bring in lots of natural light. There are also top-up bottom-down blinds for privacy in the bedroom and living room. Take advantage of close bus lines and convenient grocery store and restaurants.

Life Wright Now | February

February has been an incredibly busy month. Mr. Fleece and I have been in the thick of remodeling and upgrading the upstairs unit of our duplex. Watching everything come together has been fun & we've learned a ton, especially how to be patient with one another. So many decisions...& indecision.
Photos coming soon!

Watching
This past weekend I relived my childhood & the new Netflix hit, Fuller House. The story follows DJ Fuller raising three boys with the help of sister Stephanie & best friend, Kimmy Gibbler. Overall, it's incredibly cheesy, but of course, a tad heartwarming too : ) My favorite scene so far was where Stephanie gifted Danny a suit jacket made from their blue & white couch material. #classic

Also this clip of Saoirse Ronan.

Eating
Martha Stewart's One Pot cookbook has been my recent motivation in the kitchen. With great photos, simple recipes, & easy clean-up, it's a little more appealing to cook after a long day at the office. So far I've made Classic Chicken Noodle Soup and Irish Beef & Stout Soup.
Reading
Anita Diamant's The Boston Girl follows the story of a modern woman as told from grandmother to granddaughter. It's got me thinking about hard work, family, friends, summers, & decisions.
Listening
I recently stumbled upon the band Pretty Broken Things after I heard the lead vocalist Katie Costello at a small event in Seattle. I've been listening to their album Let it Come & Let it Pass ever since. I love the songs 1983 - Present & Here it Is.

Wishing spring break still existed,
