Hawaii | The Big Island

Six months ago we were in Hawaii, soaking up the sun & enjoying the "aloha" spirit with no responsibilities. It was a definitely a trip to remember! Here's the final part of my recap - The Big Island, our favorite of the islands we visited.

Fun Memories
- Relaxing at our favorite Air Bnb of the trip - a simple little condo with an up close & personal view of the Pacific Ocean & swimming pool to boot!
- More snorkeling & boogie-boarding.
- Hitting the dance floor at Uncle Robert's open-air market & watching a cane-carrying heavy-set toothless 70+ year old woman showing her moves with a smile on her face.
- Spending a night at The Fairmont Orchid & getting a mai tai poolside :)
- Catching the best waves at Hapuna Bay Beach Park. Mr. Fleece did not want to leave!
- Lava. lava. lava.

Not to Miss
- Manta Ray night snorkel - it's absolutely incredible!
- Watching the sunset and getting an astronomy tour on top of Mauna Kea (would recommend a tour...meeting our tour guide was a highlight).
- Hiking the Pololu Valley.
- In general, the Big Island is so beautiful - we just enjoyed driving around the island, taking in all the various landscapes, from jungle to farmland to rocky beach, it's stunning.
- Hawaii Volcanoes National Park!

Where to Eat
Adventure was definitely the highlight for us on this island - we ordered fast food & made meals at home, but made sure to make a pit stop for mochi from Two Ladies Kitchen.
Take me back!
