Planning a trip to San Francisco? I'd recommend the following:
1. Some kind of boat tour
We sailed in the bay around Alcatraz & under the Golden Gate Bridge on a catamaran. It was both windy and lovely : )

This little gem in Fisherman's Wharf has playable antique arcade games. It's a great source of entertainment for some pocket change (a good way to offset vacation splurging). Mr. Fleece proved he has some mad Mrs. Pacman skills!
3. Alamo Square
Perhaps my Texas roots swayed my vote on this one, but you really can't beat laying out & people watching in a park that overlooks the city. Plus, it's the same one featured on the opener of Full House! Shout out to DJ, Stephanie, & Michelle : )
4. Smitten Ice Cream
Made right in front of you with dry ice, this treat is deliciously creamy. My visit was made even sweeter by running into a friend from Austin.
Check out their video. |
It's such a classic thing to do, but I agree with the rest of the tourists, it's incredible. Learning about the construction & design was very cool too. Plus, it's free & you can't pass up free : )
Did I convince you to go?

Even with my vegan diet I'm tempted to try that ice cream shop! How cool. I'm getting so excited about going. We'll have to get together soon before I go.
ReplyDeleteWe stumbled on Musee Mecanique when we were in San Fran too. It was so cheap and fun to see the old games that used just mechanics instead of video screens. We'll definitely have to check out Smitten Ice Cream next time we're there.
