Seattle | The city

The city is a grand place. So much life. So much hustle & bustle. I first fell in love with cities when I lived in Austin & that longing for people places & things to do has stayed with me. Here's my current city - not the beautiful trees, glorious mountains, or glistening water - the city of Seattle itself.
More often than not, I move through the city glued to my cell phone...with my head to the ground.
For this excursion, I made sure to look up. I realized Seattle is kind of like a kaleidoscope - you move one block to the north & you get a slightly different view, new colors & angles.  Twist to the right & it's a completely different collage.
This is Mr. Fleece's building. They call it the box the space needle came in.
Even building walls  & sidewalks have their charms -
So much happens in cities. It's where people work, eat, play & worship. God designed them that way.
The end of time will end in a great city. Revelation 21 says some pretty astounding things about this new heaven & new earth -

"Then I saw 'a new heaven and a new earth,' for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying 'Look! God's dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 'He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away'."

"And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God. It shone with the glory of God, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal."

"The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp."
In the meantime I want to follow these words from Jeremiah 29:7. "But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare."
