Last weekend I met my sister in Chicago to celebrate her 30th birthday! Having never been to Chicago, I was excited to see the sites & explore the streets. The city is fascinating & we found ourselves looking up a lot (there are LOTS of skyscrapers).
I love how the Chicago river runs right through downtown, the beauty of Lake Michigan, & the reliable transportation system. Too bad those winters are so harsh!
Our agenda was well balanced between the quintessential sites & off the beaten path shops & restaurants. If you're planning a trip yourself, I definitely recommend the following:
This Air b&b in Wicker Park
The Art Institute of Chicago
It's famous for a reason
The Riverboat Architecture Tour
My favorite part of the trip - learning the fun facts of various buildings & gaining a better understanding of the change & improvements within the last 20 years.
Catching some sort of show
We saw Book of Mormon & caught an improv show at The Chicago Improv Den.
Walking about Millennium Park
My love for public spaces gets more & more solidified over time.
Lincoln Park
The zoo is free!!
Would love to catch a Cubs game at Wrigley Field next time : )
