On the morning of our 12th wedding anniversary we boarded a 6-hour flight to Honolulu with three excited children in tow. Lucky for us, Oahu made for a good "mid-point" for meeting up with my sister who's currently stationed in Okinawa. From the moment we walked through the open-air airport, we thought, "it's good to be back" :) We loved soaking up the scenic mountains, beach bum lifestyle, and delicious Hawaiian food. Best of all, we met my niece Kit and enjoyed time with family!
Hawaii Highlights
- Splashing and digging at the beach
- Sharing shave ice and acai bowls with the kids
- Renting a private swimming pool on Swimply
- Climbing on the playground at Bellows Airforce Base
- Watching Mr. Fleece explain beach safety to our trio
- Driving to the north shore to see sea turtles on the beach
- Exploring Kid City Adventure -- like a modernized Discovery Zone. Super fun!
- EDW wearing the one long-sleeve shirt we packed for the entire trip
- Playing mini golf on our last night
- Bird-watching the red crested cardinals in our yard
- Playing Go Fish
- Watching the kids run from condo to condo in the evenings -- thankful we were on the ground floor :)
