What a fun and wild year it's been -- we transitioned away from pacifiers, cribs, and diapers! Our four-year-olds are now writing their names, counting backward, doing more advanced puzzles, and biking with hand brakes. Our independent and collective playtime has skyrocketed -- not uncommon for all three kids to play in the basement for 30+ minutes at a time. They love building zoos, forts, castles, and obstacle courses. We've incorporated a lot more reading and drawing, and no day is complete without hearing "Let's Play Baby" from EDW. Stuffies, Legos, and magnet tiles reign supreme. Like many families across America, this was a year of Paw Patrol :) We started our three shows on weekend days approach, where each child gets to pick a show and this has continued to be a hit!
We still love parks, playgrounds, and the beach, and enjoyed exploring new Children's Museums (Honolulu, Tacoma) and Zoos (Tacoma, Bronx). We are grateful for their health, growth, playfulness and curiosity!
EDW has fully adopted the hygge way of life -- cozy is her favorite adjective and snuggle is her favorite verb :) She loves indoor pretend play (doctor, baby, store, airplane, camping) and taking care of all her stuffies. She is great at puzzles and has enjoyed listening to short chapter books (Mercy Watson, Mr. Putter & Tabby, and Poppleton).
